K.C. Industries manufacture a wide range of Ceramic Insulators made from Steatite, Cordierite, Porcelain and Refractory Bodies based on Mullite and Zircon.
Steatite and Porcelain are generally used for Electrical Insulators while Cordierite is used both for its resistance to Thermal Shock and its Electrical Insulating properties. Refractory bodies are generally used in high temperature applications such as element rods.

Dry pressing or extrusion is normally used to form Steatite, and Cordierite shapes. The high talc content of Steatite and Cordierite cause considerable difficulties when formed by way of wet pressing. Porcelain and Refractory be they Zircon or Mullite based bodies are not suitable for dry pressing due to their high content of abrasive particles, therefore they are normally Wet Pressed or Extruded.

Goods are often produced to specifications arrived through consultation between KC Industries and our customers at the design stage. Our product range carries more than 2000 items and countless variations on these designs.
